Wadsworth teen charged in death of 15-year-old

WADSWORTH, Ohio (AP) -- A 16-year-old was charged with involuntary manslaughter Monday in the weekend stabbing death of a 15-year-old in a parking lot of this Akron suburb. Jeffrey Rowe of Wadsworth also was charged with evidence tampering in the death of Matthew Twigg, a freshman at Wadsworth High School. Judge John Lohn of Medina County Juvenile Court ordered Rowe held in juvenile detention to await another court hearing Thursday. No plea was entered. Prosecutor Dean Holman declined to comment on the evidence but said the investigation showed the death wasn't intentional. Twigg was discovered after police received an emergency call Saturday afternoon about an injured person outside the GenFed Credit Union branch. A weapon that may have been used in the stabbing was found, Police Sgt. Randy Reinke said. Roger Cramer, Wadsworth High School principal, said students were offered the chance to meet with counselors Monday.
