TRUMBULL GIRLS ROUNDUP Hubbard's free throws lead to win over Falls



The Eagles made 16-of-23 in the fourth quarter in a 60-46 victory.
NEWTON FALLS -- The Hubbard High girls basketball team made 16-of-23 free throws in the fourth quarter to pull away from Newton Falls, 60-46, in a Trumbull Athletic Conference game Monday.
Lynle Cornell scored 20 points and made 11-of-13 free throws, including 6-of-7 in the final quarter, for the Eagles (10-4, 8-1).
Christina Adams and Loni Sargent each scored 10 points for Hubbard, which made 25-of-42 free throws.
Lindsay Calland scored 10 points for the Tigers (2-12, 1-8).
Brookfield 47, Lakeview 40
BROOKFIELD -- Senior guard Kaitlyn Nasci scored a game-high 15 points to lead Brookfield.
Raquel Brenner added 12 points for the Warriors (9-7, 6-4 TAC), who took a 26-15 halftime lead.
Lindsay Whetzel had 12 points and Christina Martin added 11 for Lakeview (5-9, 4-5).
Girard 70, LaBrae 31
GIRARD -- The Indians (15-1, 10-0 TAC) sprinted to a 38-15 halftime lead.
Cachet Murray scored 23 points and grabbed 16 of 42 rebounds to spark the Indians. Lauren Adams added 13 points.
Maddie D'Orio led the Vikings (2-14, 0-10) with 10 points.
Maplewood 61, Southington 31
MECCA -- Lisa Flickinger scored 16 points as the Maplewood stretched its winning streak to 11 games in a Northeastern Athletic Conference game.
Flickinger, who hit four 3-point goals, entered the game averaging seven points per outing.
Stephanie Schwartz scored 12 points and Amber Pruski had eight points and 11 rebounds for the Rockets (16-1).
The Wildcats (4-11) fell behind 19-8 after one period and trailed 38-15 at the break.
Badger 37, Lordstown 27
LORDSTOWN -- Samantha Bonar scored six of her 10 points in the fourth quarter as Badger rallied from a 25-19 third quarter deficit.
Autumn McGraff added nine points for Badger (8-8, 7-2 NAC).
Sarah Minor had 10 points for Lordstown (3-12, 2-6), which led 13-0 entering the second quarter.
