YOUNGSTOWN -- Rick Quinn was in the right place at the right time.
Campbell Memorial's senior guard scored the game-winning basket with seven seconds remaining Friday in a 43-41 victory over host Woodrow Wilson.
The alert Quinn reached out to grab an offensive rebound and put it back up to break a 41-41 deadlock.
Wilson senior guard Chauncey Whitlow, who had 10 points, hit a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter, the latter tying the score at 41-41 with 2:24 left.
Quinn's winning field goal became the sixth and final lead change of the game as Wilson's Bert Pritchard missed a jumper at the buzzer.
Devils two big runs
Two scoring runs were a big difference for the Red Devils (10-5) in a hotly-contested defensive battle.
A 9-0 run to start the second quarter had Campbell leading 14-6, and a 7-0 run at the end of third period had the Red Devils leading 31-25.
It was 6-foot senior Teyon Harris who was instrumental in both spurts as he scored seven of nine points in the early run with his 3-pointer topping it off.
Finishing the third quarter with a long 3-pointer at the buzzer, Harris, who had a team-high 14 points with nine of his team's 25 rebounds, had five of the points in that run.
Harris had been ill during the week and came off the bench to be a big help in Campbell's second win over Wilson this season.
"It was good to be able to contribute to a great team effort off the bench," Harris said.
In a 57-38 home win over Wilson on Jan. 16, Harris scored 21 points as a starter. Also a double-figure scorer off the Campbell bench was 6-2 senior James Torbert with 10 points.
Quinn hot in second quarter
Quinn scored eight points and had five steals, three in the second quarter, when Wilson had eight of its 19 turnovers.
"Defense and unselfishness define our team and this was our best win of this season," Campbell coach Brian Danilov said.
Wilson (3-10) was led by senior forward Walter Duncan with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Whitlow had six assists to go with his 10 points and Bruce Smith pulled down six rebounds and blocked six shots.
"A slow offensive start hurt us tonight, and though we came back we couldn't overcome Campbell's outstanding defensive play," Wilson coach Mark Cherol said.
