Hollingsworth leads as Akron beats Marshall

AKRON -- John Hollingsworth scored 19 points to lead five Akron players in double figures as the Zips beat Marshall 85-69 Monday night.
The other four starters for Akron (10-8, 4-6 Mid American Conference) also scored in double figures -- Matt Futch had 14, Andy Hipsher 12, Derrick Tarver 11 and Jeremiah Wood 10. Hollingsworth also dished out seven assists. Rick McFadden (Struthers) had three points, two assists and one rebound off the bench.

ATHENS -- Sonny Troutman scored 14 points, including a go-ahead layup with 14 seconds remaining in overtime.
Jaivon Harris (Alliance) made a pair of free throws to pull the Bobcats (7-13, 4-6 MAC) to within 64-63 with 33 seconds to go. Harris then grabbed a rebound off a missed free throw by Miami's Gene Seals with 24 seconds remaining.
After Troutman gave Ohio the lead, Jeff Halbert stole the ball and was fouled. Halbert made both free throws to put the Bobcats ahead 67-64 with a second remaining, and Miami (10-7, 6-3 MAC) couldn't get off a final shot.
