GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Junior center Sandy O'Keefe set a new single-game school record with seven blocked shots, while junior guard Jocelyn Kempema tossed in a career-high 18 points as the Grove City College women's basketball team downed visiting La Roche, 67-54, Monday night at the Grove City College Arena in non-conference action.
O'Keefe also added 14 points and a career-high five assists for Grove City (11-7). Kari Whiteman led the Redhawks with 17 points.
Westminster 82,Penn State-Altoona 54
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Freshman guard Desiree Sterling, a Newton Falls High graduate, scored 16 points to lead Westminster (11-8).
Junior guard Alyson Gasper (Blackhawk) added 12 points for Westminster.
Pitt-Bradford 55, Thiel 54
BRADFORD, Pa. -- Bradford's Calista Walker hit a jumper with 23 seconds remaining.
Kristen Schrecongost finished with 11 points and five assists for Thiel (6-14) while freshman guard Nicole Valentino, a Sharon High graduate, added eight points and a career-high 10 rebounds.
Men
ALTOONA, Pa. -- Penn State Altoona outscored Bethany 9-3 in overtime to win 91-85.
Justin Walcott hit a layup with 55 seconds remaining to force overtime, but Altoona used a 6-0 run early in the overtime period to take control.
Pitt-Greensburg 107,Westminster 100
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Kevin Conlon scored a game-high 28 points for Pitt-Greensburg (9-11).
Mark DeMonaco, a New Castle High graduate, had 24 points, seven assists and four steals for the Titans (10-10), who had won seven straight. Fellow New Castle graduates Dom Joseph and Ed Pagley had 13 and 10 points, respectively. Mohawk graduate Brian Fadden had six rebounds.
