Fashionista named best-accessorized celebrity in 2003

NEW YORK (AP) -- If it's true that the only thing that separates us from the animals is our ability to accessorize, as Olympia Dukakis' character proclaims in the film "Steel Magnolias," then Sarah Jessica Parker has further separated herself from the pack.
Parker, whose fashionista alter ego on HBO's "Sex and the City" has helped make Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik household names, was named the best-accessorized celebrity in 2003 by the Accessories Council.
"Parker has an incredible sense of style and is always dressed to the nines, both on and off the small screen," says Sheila Block, executive director of the Accessories Council. "She has inspired legions of women to embrace accessories."
The council tallied votes from accessories editors at fashion magazines and accessory manufacturers and retailers to come up with its list of best-accessorized celebrities.
Others on the council's top 10 include Nicole Kidman; Reese Witherspoon; Jennifer Lopez, last year's top accessorizer; Debra Messing; Cameron Diaz; Gwen Stefani; Julianne Moore; and Beyonce.
