Best Bets on TV Tonight



Thanks to "Day of the Groundhog" (9 p.m., Animal Planet), viewers get to visit four communities that each claim to shelter the best weather-predicting groundhog in the land. The competing towns: Wiarton, Ontario; Quarryville, Pa.; Atlanta; and, of course, Punxsutawney, Pa.
Under Mexican rule in the early 1830s, Texas was home to more than 20,000 U.S. settlers increasingly riled by what they saw as restrictive Mexican policies. Meanwhile, Mexican officials weren't about to let the province slip from their control without a fight. Caught in the middle: the region's 4,000 Mexican Texans, or Tejanos, each of whom had to align with one side or the other when war erupted. "Remember the Alamo" (10 p.m., PBS Channels 45 & amp; 49), an "American Experience" documentary, explores their plight, and the life of famed Tejano leader Jose Antonio Navarro as he struggled to protect the sovereignty of his homeland.
The series "Airline" (10 p.m., A & amp;E), which follows the ups and downs behind the scenes at Southwest Airlines, turns to romance among passengers and employees who are trying to make -- and in some cases avoid -- a love connection.
In the new monthly series "10 Things Every Guy Should Experience" (11:05 p.m., Spike TV), groups of friends are pitted against each other for the opportunity to attend high-profile sports events. First up: the Super Bowl.
