Rayen girls win City Series title



YOUNGSTOWN -- Taniesha Holland led the Rayen School girls to a 75-41 win over Chaney Wednesday, giving the Tigers their eighth consecutive City Series championship.
Holland, a junior guard, collected 26 points, eight assists and seven steals for the Tigers (8-7, 4-0). Rayen has won five of its last six outings.
Taryn Perkins added 12 points and 13 rebounds and Rilonda Neal scored 10 points for the city champs.
Adrienne Peace scored 10 points for Chaney (3-13, 3-2).
Canfield 47, Struthers 28
CANFIELD -- The Canfield defense limited Struthers to four points in the first quarter and three in the fourth.
Nikki Garrett and Corey Hoffman paced the Cardinals (11-4, 7-1 Metro Athletic Conference) with 11 points apiece. Allison Ginnetti led the Wildcats (3-11, 1-7) with 11 points.
