Registrations, meetings
Below are dates of registrations and/or information meetings for pupils entering the following schools or districts in fall 2004.
AUSTINTOWN -- Due to a reporting error, the Jan. 24 School page listed incorrect information about ninth-grade enrollment. Eight-grade students not currently attending an Austintown middle school should call (330) 797-3923, Ext. 2015, to enroll; those attending either of the district's middle schools do not need to call.
CHAMPION -- Kindergarten registration, 4 to 6 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Feb. 12 in the Central Elementary School principal's office. Pupils must be 5 before Aug. 1. Required are child's birth certificate, Social Security card, immunization record, proof of residency (current gas or electric bill) and applicable custody papers; the child need not be present.
MATHEWS -- Kindergarten registration, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Currie Elementary School, 3306 Ridge Road, Cortland. Students must be five by Sept. 30 and have required immunizations. Required are the child's birth certificate, immunization record, Social Security card, proof of residency and applicable proof of custody.
ROOSEVELT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, McDonald -- First kindergarten roundup, rescheduled for 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday. Bring child's birth certificate, Social Security card, immunization record, proof of residency and applicable custody papers.
URSULINE PRESCHOOL AND KINDERGARTEN, Canfield -- Open House is 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the school, 4300 Shields Road, with applications for registration being accepted beginning that day. Class sizes are limited; call (330) 792-4150 for an application form.
LOWELLVILLE - A listing on last Saturday's School page incorrectly reported the dates for kindergarten registration. Registration runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 9-12 and from 4-8 p.m. Feb. 12 at the new school's main office, 52 Rocket Place. The school is closed Feb. 13. Children must be 5 years old by Sept. 30 and have all required immunizations. Required are birth certificate, Social Security number, immunization record, proof of residency and applicable proof of legal custody.
