DeSantos mark golden jubilee at Mass, dinner

XDELRAY BEACH, Fla. -- Former area residents Samuel and Rose DeSanto of Delray Beach were honored in December at a Mass at St. Thomas More Church in Boynton Beach, Fla., on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
A celebration dinner for family and friends followed at Mario's of Boca. The couple will continue the celebration of the event on a Caribbean cruise in the spring.
Hosts for the dinner were the couple's daughter and son-in-law, Lucinda and Gary Carrocce of Canfield, and their granddaughter.
Mr. DeSanto and the former Rose Avolio were married Jan. 23, 1954, at Holy Trinity Church in Struthers. He served in the U.S. Air Force and is retired from the Mahoning County Engineer's Office in Youngstown, where he was a draftsman.
His wife retired from Home Savings and Loan Co. in Youngstown. She is a volunteer for the Vizcaya Country Club and is a member of the Vizcaya Ladies Club.
The couple belong to St. Thomas More Church.
