KNIGHT RIDDER NEWSPAPERS
1. Listen to Rufus Wainwright perform "Hallelujah." It's an incredibly beautiful song.
2. Listen to "A Charlie Brown Christmas" by the Vince Guaraldi Trio. Certainly the best Christmas album and possibly one of the greatest jazz records, period.
3. Read "The Razor's Edge" by Somerset Maugham. It's a great story and a beautiful exploration of Eastern religion.
4. Go hiking. Take some time out to explore the outdoors.
5. See "The Royal Tenenbaums." It's funny and poignant.
6. If you're over 40, listen to "Hey Ya" by OutKast; if you're under 40, listen to "A Whiter Shade of Pale" by Procol Harum. Get perspective on what everyone's listening to.
7. Read "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost. The final lines are haunting.
8. Go up to someone who means a lot to you. Tell them as much.
9. Listen to "Pet Sounds" by the Beach Boys. Some of the best harmonies ever recorded.
10. Go out and look at the stars on a clear night. Make sure you're far away from the city.
