STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Jen Harris scored 18 of her career-high 22 points in the second half to lead Penn State to a 69-62 upset of No. 9 Ohio State on Thursday night. Harris scored 13 points, including 10 straight, during a 20-5 run that gave the Lady Lions (6-5) a 38-29 lead with 16:32 left. Tanisha Wright added 10 of her 22 points in the final 15 minutes to stretch Penn State's lead to as many as 12 with 5:40 remaining. Ohio State (11-2) got 20 points from Jessica Davenport, including 16 in the second half, and 18 from Brandie Hoskins. But the Big Ten's best ball-control team -- a 1.50 assists-to-turnovers ratio entering the game -- couldn't overcome 17 turnovers and seven blocked shots.

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Sylvia Fowles had 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead No. 1 LSU to a of Texas State. The Tigers (12-0) opened with a 25-2 run in the first 9:30 and held Texas State (3-8) to just 26-percent shooting. Temeka Johnson and Seimone Augustus added 13 points apiece for LSU, which led 44-21 at halftime. Johnson also had six assists. Tori Talbert had nine points for the Bobcats.

DEKALB, Ill. -- Jacqueline Batteast scored 21 points for Notre Dame, who improved to 5-0 on the road. Tulyah Gaines added 12 points for the Irish (11-1). Stephanie Raymond led the Huskies (2-8) with 15 points and Kristin Wiener added 14. The Irish led 36-26 at halftime and opened the second half with a 20-9 run to take a 56-35 lead with 8:59 left.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Ivory Latta had 24 points and Erlana Larkins added 17 points and 14 rebounds for the Tar Heels (11-1), who won their fourth in a row. Latta, who scored 19 second-half points, made five straight shots during a 5-minute stretch of the second half to help North Carolina take control. She hit a jumper, added a 3-pointer, then drove in for a layup after a nifty pass from Nikita Bell. Later, Latta got fouled on a 3 and converted all three free throws before connecting again from long range to make it 58-35. Old Dominion (4-4) never got closer and still is looking for its first road victory of the season to complement a 21-game home winning streak. Tiffany Green led the Monarchs with 19 points and 11 rebounds, but leading scorer Shareese Grant finished with only six, more than 12 off her average.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Janel McCarville had 13 points and 14 rebounds to lead Minnesota in the Big Ten opener for both teams. McCarville was the only Gopher in double figures, picking up her 38th career double-double. Ifeoma Okonkwo scored 18 and Samantha McComb had 10 for injury-depleted Northwestern (3-11), which dressed just eight players. Minnesota (11-2) earned its third straight conference-opening win under third-year coach Pam Borton.

BOSTON -- Brooke Queenan had 19 points and seven rebounds to lead Boston College to its eighth straight win. The Eagles (9-1) opened a 14-3 lead just 3 minutes into the game and led by 18 points at the half. Jessalyn Deveny scored 17 points and Kathrin Ress 14 for BC. Anna Montanana led the Colonials (6-4) with 19 points.

NEW ORLEANS -- Ashley Earley scored a career-high 26 points, including the 1,000th of her career, to lead Vanderbilt over winless New Orleans. Cherish Springfield added 12 points, Dee Davis scored 11 and Caroline Williams had 10 for Vanderbilt (10-1), which forced 21 turnovers and limited New Orleans to 24 percent shooting. Ashlee Norwood led the 0-11 Lady Privateers with 10 points.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Shay Doron scored 21 of her 26 season-high points in the second half to lead Maryland in the Terrapin Classic. It marked the eighth straight win for Maryland, which led by two points at halftime. Tournament MVP Crystal Langhorne scored 20 points for the Terrapins (10-1). Crystal Champion had 20 points and 11 rebounds for Marshall (5-5), and Kim Griffin contributed 14 points.

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Crystal Smith scored 24 points and Iowa extended its best start in 17 years. Cyndi Valentin led Indiana (7-4) with 15 points and Leah Enterline had 14.

MADISON, Wis. -- Erin Lawless scored a career-high 29 points as No. 20 Purdue overcame a slow start to beat Wisconsin (5-5) in the Big Ten opener for both teams. Lawless topped her season average of 16 points a game before halftime with 21, carrying Purdue (8-3) initially to keep the game close.

PHILADELPHIA -- Kendra Wecker scored 21 points and had 14 rebounds to lead Kansas State past Saint Joseph's. Wecker made 9-of-16 shots and Laurie Koehn added 11 points for the Wildcats (8-2). Kansas State led 36-30 with 14:12 left before an 11-0 run over the next 5 minutes increased its lead to 47-30. The Hawks (2-10) did not make a field goal for the first 10:45 of the second half.
