LAS VEGAS -- Jason Maxiell had 30 points and eight rebounds, and Eric Hicks added 17 points Thursday night in No. 22 Cincinnati's 95-69 victory over Longwood in the Las Vegas Holiday Classic.
Cincinnati (11-0) led by just four with 13 minutes to play, but went on a 14-2 run over the next five minutes to pull away.
Maxiell sparked the rally, grabbing an offensive rebound and finishing with a dunk as the Bearcats peaked late in their tuneup for today's tournament finale against top-ranked Illinois.
Michael Jefferson scored 27 points, including 20 in the first half, for the Lancers (1-15).
Maxiell scored 11 of his team's first 18 points, and continued his dominance with a 10-for-14 performance from both the field and the foul line.
Cincinnati closed with a 23-11 run, giving the Bearcats their fifth straight win by 20 points or more.
The Bearcats controlled the inside game, grabbing 11 offensive rebounds and outrebounding Longwood 46-29.
Jihad Muhammad had 15 for the Bearcats and James White added 10.
Jefferson's 3-pointer with 1:41 left in the first half cut Longwood's deficit to 47-40. The Lancers shot 61 percent from the field in the opening 10 minutes as they hung close early.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Justin Gray scored 21 of his 23 points in the first half to lift Wake Forest past North Carolina A & amp;T.
Eric Williams added 19 points for the Demon Deacons (11-1).
Sean Booker scored 18 points for the overmatched Aggies (1-11).
No. 7 Syracuse 80, Hofstra 75
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Hakim Warrick scored 29 points, Terrence Roberts had a career-high 20 and Syracuse rallied late to beat previously unbeaten Hofstra.
It was only the second meeting between the Orange (13-1) and Hofstra (9-1).
No. 11 Connecticut 123, Quinnipiac 71
HARTFORD, Conn. -- Josh Boone had a career-high 22 points and eight blocks to lead Connecticut to a rout of Quinnipiac.
Boone dominated inside for the Huskies (8-1).
Rob Monroe scored 16 points for the overmatched Bobcats (4-5).
Missouri 63, No. 12 Gonzaga 61
COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Jason Conley had 16 points and 13 rebounds, and Missouri (7-5) survived a lengthy cold stretch at the finish to hang on and beat Gonzaga.
Ronny Turiaf missed two free throws with a chance to tie it for Gonzaga (10-2) with 8.4 seconds left. .
No. 14 Arizona 84, Richmond 71
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Chris Rodgers tied his career high with 20 points, and Ivan Radenovic and Salim Stoudamire had 16 each to help Arizona outlast Richmond in the championship game of the Fiesta Bowl Classic.
Radenovic had nine rebounds in 24 minutes for Arizona (10-2).
Jamaal Scott had 16 points for Richmond (5-5).
St. John's 63, No. 17 North Carolina St. 45
NEW YORK -- St. John's had fans thinking of the glory days with a thrashing of North Carolina State (10-2) in the championship game of the Holiday Festival.
Daryll Hill had 19 points for the Red Storm (6-4).
No. 19 Louisville 78, E. Kentucky 63
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Francisco Garcia scored 23 points and went over 1,000 for his career to lead Louisville over Eastern Kentucky.
Garcia reached the milestone when he made a 3-pointer with 3:58 left in the first half during an 18-4 run that turned a 30-21 advantage into a 48-25 halftime lead for Louisville (10-2).
Michael Haney scored 22 points for Eastern Kentucky (8-3).
No. 21 Mississippi State 71, Virginia Tech 65
NEW ORLEANS -- Lawrence Roberts scored 25 points and grabbed 19 rebounds as Mississippi State (12-2) rallied to beat Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl Classic.
Carlos Dixon led the Hokies (6-5) with 19 points.
