Boardman's boys knocked off previously-unbeaten Poland.
SEBRING -- Amanda Nero scored 20 points and recorded six steals, as Lowellville High ran its winning streak to seven games on Wednesday night with a 54-43 victory over Sebring in a girls non-conference basketball game.
Caitlin McCarthy and Kristen Pallozzi added 12 points each for the Rockets (7-0). McCarthy also had seven assists, and Sara Porter finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.
Kayley Drennen led Sebring (3-6) with 13 points, while Brittany Price added 11.
Brookfield 58, Farrell 50
BROOKFIELD -- Rachel Pasquerilla scored 20 points, making 16-of-17 at the free throw line, to lead Brookfield.
Pasquerilla was 8-for-9 at the line in the fourth quarter, as Brookfield rallied from a 48-36 deficit.
Pasquerilla also had five assists for the Warriors (6-2). Morgan Bonekovic added 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Jacki Rust also scored 13.
Jessica Robinson scored 14 points for Farrell, while Keveeda Myers added 13 and Deiricka Blackwell scored 12.
The Steelers are 6-3.
Kennedy Catholic 52, Meadville 43
CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS, Pa. -- Heather Brooks and Hallie Arena scored 11 points each for Kennedy Catholic (6-3), which won the championship of the Cambridge Springs Holiday Tournament.
Casey Heller scored 17 points for Meadville, while Asia Foster scored 10.
Boys
BOARDMAN -- Nick Ludban scored 13 points, including 11 in the first half as Boardman built a 10-point lead, and the Spartans went on to a 54-49 victory over Poland.
Dan Marion and Nick Daltorio added 10 points each for the Spartans (5-4).
Chad Fender scored 27 points to lead Poland (5-1).
In the first game of the doubleheader at Boardman, Austintown Fitch defeated Chaney, 46-45. No details were provided.
Shenango 68, Mercer 64
MERCER, Pa. -- Steve McNees had a fine all-around game, finishing with 33 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and three steals, as Shenango won the title game of the Mercer Holiday Tournament.
Shawn DeJohn added 12 points, seven rebounds and three steals for the Wildcats (9-1).
