A little thanks, a large dose of skepticism and sarcasm
A little thanks, a large dose of skepticism and sarcasm
EDITOR:
Thank you so much for your role in the Intelligent Design/Holy Creationism debate that is sweeping our nation today. It's because of the courage of newspapers like The Vindicator that everyone will finally hear the truth on this very important issue.
Your publication of a minister's Dec. 27 letter will go a long way in demonstrating just how ludicrous Darwin was when he suggested that natural selection could ever explain the "wonder and definition" of the world we see all around us every day, even things that may at first glance (to the average person) not appear to be part of His divine design.
Take, for example, the anopheles mosquito and carrier of the dreaded parasite responsible for the spreading of malaria. Here's a little flying insect that's just so marvelous in form and function that it's impossible to imagine such a creature coming into existence by random chance or natural selection. It's immediately obvious to any serious student of biology (who hasn't already been poisoned by far left, secular, God-denying evolutionists) that this tiny, precious creature was fashioned by a divine hand for a divine purpose in the higher order of things here on His Earth. Even though I'm still a bit puzzled how Noah was able to discern a male from a female anopheles mosquito way back in the time of Genesis, I thank God everyday that he was able to do so and had the foresight to take two of these wonderful little creatures with him on his 40 day Dead Sea cruise.
Hurray to the writer for mentioning Lee Strobel's book, & quot; The Case for the Creator. & quot; After spending a little research time on Mr. Strobel, I found it just fascinating to learn that a former skeptic, atheist and one-time legal editor for the Chicago Tribune was able to transform himself (almost overnight) into one of the world's leading scholars on the origin of the Earth's species! Mr. Strobel is proof positive that God does indeed work in many wonderful and mysterious ways.
But of all the letter writer's words, none compare in truth and wisdom to his final comments: & quot;Remove creationism and you remove the God of creationism; remove God, then there is no absolute truth, remove absolute truth and personal responsibility and accountability fall aside. Where random chance prevails then we are not ultimately responsible to anyone for our actions. & quot; Now there's a solid example of genius and courage if I've ever read them! I pray that his words and wisdom will find their way to the Vatican and the Holy Father's ears and I pray that sometime soon we'll see a recanting of the Catholic Church's endorsement of evolutionary "theory."
Thank God we've got people like that in the community and the Vindy to help spread the truth on such an important matter in what is quickly becoming a Godless, irresponsible and unaccountable society.

Girard must do something to save lake and its wildlife
EDITOR:
I am writing to ask if there is any way to save Girard Lakes. Each day as I drive home from work, I pass the Lakes on Niles Vienna Road. It is such a place of beauty and a wealth of nature with many species of fish and wildlife.
I implore the councilmen and women of Girard, and anyone else who has the power to save the lakes and dam to do so.
I am, as are many other concerned citizens, just sickened at the thought of breaching the dam, and in doing so purposely killing literally thousands of fish and wildlife that rely on the water and forest to survive.
As U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan has stated, there may be more federal money available early next year to save the dam in conjunction with the $500,000 already appropriated to this issue earlier this year.
I pray for an answer to this issue that will ensure the saving of this beautiful area of nature known as Girard Lakes, for now, and our future generations.
