Mount Union loses in opener of tourney
The Purple Raiders were routed by No. 11 Albion, 74-54.

PHOENIX -- Travis DePree scored 19 points to lead 11th-ranked Albion (Mich.) to a 74-54 victory over Mount Union in the opening round of the Cactus Jam Tournament Monday.
Michael Thomas and Brandon Crawford each had 16 points for the Britons (8-0). Crawford also had 10 rebounds.
Mount Union (3-6) was led by Kyle Karpinski, with 23 points, and Chris Blakely, with 10 rebounds.
Mount Union was scheduled to play Drew (Calif.) today at noon.
No. 1 Illinois 105, Longwood 79
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Deron Williams scored a season-high 23 points and had seven assists to lead Illinois.
Luther Head scored 20 points for the Illini. James Augustine added 16 points and nine rebounds, and Dee Brown had 13 assists.
Michael Jefferson scored a career-high 30 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead Longwood.
No. 19 Louisville 104,Morehead St. 40
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Francisco Garcia scored 18 of his career-high 29 points in the first half as Louisville made a season-high 14 3-pointers.
Louisville (9-2) scored the game's first 19 points, including eight from Garcia. The Cardinals made seven of their first 10 shots, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range, during the spurt.
Taquan Dean added 16 points and Larry O'Bannon had 14 for Louisville. Ellis Myles had 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Chad McKnight led the Eagles (6-4) with 11 points and Jonathan True added 10.
No. 22 Cincinnati 77,Miami (Ohio) 53
CINCINNATI -- Eric Hicks had career highs with 21 points and 17 rebounds for the Bearcats.
James White and Armein Kirkland added 18 apiece for Cincinnati, which improved to 10-0 for the second season in a row.
Danny Horace scored 10 points for Miami (6-3), his second-lowest total of the season. Doug Penno scored 11 for the Redhawks, who shot a season-low 31.9 percent from the field.
Akron 81, Oakland, Mich. 52
AKRON -- Romeo Travis had 14 points, 16 rebounds, four assists and three blocks to lead Akron.
Darryl Peterson led the Zips (6-3) with 17 points and Jeremiah Wood added 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Cortney Scott scored 19 points and Rawle Marshall had 12 points and eight rebounds for the Golden Grizzlies (1-8).
Wisconsin 89, W. Carolina 49
MADISON, Wis. -- Alando Tucker's 21 points and 10 rebounds led Wisconsin to its 34th straight home win.
Kammron Taylor (13), Mike Wilkinson (12) and Clayton Hanson (11) also scored in double digits for the Badgers (8-2), who led by 20 at halftime and by as many as 41 in the second half on Brian Butch's jumper that made it 88-47 with 1:21 left.
Jared Outing's 11 points led the Catamounts (5-9), who are winless in nine games away from home. Their leading scorer, junior center David Berghoefer, scored six points, nine below his average.
Northwestern 50, Delaware St. 43
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Vedran Vukusic scored 19 points and had nine rebounds and Mohamed Hachad added 13 points to lead Northwestern.
Northwestern (6-5) outscored Delaware State 18-1 to open the game and the Wildcats led 21-10 at the half.
Delaware State missed their first 16 field goal attempts and didn't hit their first one until Terrance Hunter hit a 3-pointer with 5:24 left in the first half, making it 18-4 and sparking a Delaware State 19-5 run that extended into the second half.
Jahsha Bluntt's 3-pointer got Delaware State to 23-21 with 16:43 left in the game.
Both Bluntt and Aaron Williams had 12 points for Delaware State.
