The Poland Seminary High School speech team took part in the recent Shaker Heights Speech Tournament, along with a four-person team from Canfield and 25 other schools. The local teams' results include:
POLAND
Prose/poetry: Blaine McElroy, first place.
Duo: Jared Seefried and Lauren Malizia, first.
Original oratory: Callista Conzett, first; and Bryan Stefek, fourth.
Domestic extemporaneous: Molly Barns, first; and Andrew Porter, sixth.
International extemporaneous: Keith Sikora, first.
Impromptu: Lindsey Hardin, second.
Humorous interpretation: Ray Cerimeli, third; and Christine Horvath, fifth.
Oratorical: Stephanie Johnstone, fourth.
Drama interpretation: P.J. Smerchansky, fourth.
CANFIELD
Four-person policy debate: Katie Watt, Joe Griesmer, Carly Werner and Maggie Ryan, second.
