Intelligent design is accepted by scientists
EDITOR:
I am writing in response to last Monday's letter, "Religion is replacing science in Georgia classrooms." Contrary to popular belief and one not well researched, creationism, or intelligent design as it is affectionately called, is neither unscientific or a religious conspiracy to tear science from the classroom or remove reason from the American mind. What has been seen as a movement to stifle reasonable thought has now, after many years of research, gained prominence by most men and women of science, those of faith as well as those that claim agnosticism and atheism. The list of these scientists, who document hard research for the areas of molecular biology, astronomy, physics, geology, as well as all areas of science, reaches to the top 400 research scientists in the world and make a case that is scientifically fool proof, not full of gaps and holes as Darwinian evolution theory (which consequently is not fact.)
I suggest the book "The Case For The Creator," by Lee Strobel, which is filled with an amount of hard data that demonstrates the case for the scientific basis of creationism.
In all honesty, although the science is there for an air tight defense, one does not need facts to see the design of the Holy Creator. To observe the natural world with all its definition and wonder is to see that someone designed it. To study the human body and all its highly intricate systems and functions is to be amazed at the design which could not have happened by random chance or some pre-biotic soup. With the amount of science fact supporting "ID" it must be restated that many of these scientists are not professing Christians, but men and women who cannot deny the truth any longer, in support of so-called science, including evolution, which forces a person to make a bigger blind faith leap than any Christian I know.
Although Dr. Jim Dobson is not a perfect man (for none are, save Jesus the Lord), he is a man of integrity and character who has lived a more than consistent life of faith and practice not seeking personal gain, but to serve others as Christ served us, without anything in return. This attack, however does not surprise me for at the basis of unfactual arguments against creationism lies a greater truth. Remove creationism and you remove the God of creationism; remove God, then there is no absolute truth, remove absolute truth and personal responsibility and accountability soon fall aside. Where random chance prevails then we are not ultimately responsible to anyone of our actions. That science leaves us victims of circumstance.
As a follower of Jesus Christ I am thrilled by what science has uncovered in the past 100 years, for not one uncovered scientific fact denies creationism. In fact it overwhelmingly shouts that it is true.

Quit attacking railroad
EDITOR:
I would like to respond to the constant attacks of David Handel on the former Youngstown and Southern Railroad. This gentleman started a railroad company to basically destroy it and sell off the land for houses and commercial development. He doesn't care about trying to bring in new jobs or take some of these trucks off our local roads.
Mr. Handel is just another one of our many greedmongers trying to make a quick buck. It's already a shame that Boardman, which basically had its start in growth by the former interurban, is trying to get rid of a historical part of its community. But don't let those individuals keep saying things on issues they really don't understand.
