ALEXIS KONINGSEAN NOVOTNY
XCANFIELD -- The marriage of Alexis Koning, daughter of June and David Koning, 4238 Mellinger Road, and Sean Novotny, son of Eileen and Raymond Novotny, 311 Shadydale Drive, was solemnized at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 27 at Canfield Presbyterian Church.
The Rev. Dr. Chuck H. Moffett and the Rev. Terry Hazel officiated, and a reception followed at Mr. Anthony's Banquet Center in Boardman.
The couple are living in Canfield since their return from a honeymoon at a Caribbean resort.
The bride is a teacher at Hilltop Elementary School in Canfield Local Schools and is pursuing her master's degree in literacy at Ashland University. She received her bachelor's degree in education from Bowling Green State University. The groom is superintendent at Kennsington Golf Club. He received his associate degree in turf-grass management and his bachelor's in agriculture from Ohio State University.
Swarovski crystals adorned the bride's strapless, A-line gown of white satin and veil.
Attending as maid of honor was Kellie MacKenzie. She wore a red gown, as did the bridesmaids, Mary Weingard, the groom's sister; Angela Burnside; Bethany Patch; and April Novotny, his sister-in-law. Junior bridesmaid was Megan Romocean, his cousin, and flower girl was Katie Weingard, his niece.
The groom's brother, Tom Novotny, performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Brent Koning, the bride's brother; Brad Schutz; Spencer Detter; and Jay Weingard, his brother-in-law.
