YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Markus Austin scored 23 points and Darryl Garrett added 20 points and a game-high 15 rebounds to lead Eastern Michigan to an 89-76 win over Cleveland State on Thursday night.
Eastern Michigan (7-2) erased an 11-point second-half deficit as the Vikings went four minutes without scoring down the stretch.
Victor Morris scored 18 points to lead Cleveland State (3-4), which used a 12-2 scoring run early in the second period to build a 50-39 lead they maintained until midway through the half.
But Eastern Michigan used a balanced scoring attack to get back into the game, tying the score at 66 on Garrett's 3-pointer with 8:23 remaining.
The teams traded the lead for the next two minutes in a game that included nine ties and 11 lead changes.
But after Cleveland State's Omari Westley knotted the score at 70 on a dunk with 6:47 remaining, Eastern Michigan went ahead for good on two Austin free throws followed by a 3-pointer from Michael Ross.
Dayton 77, Akron 66
DAYTON -- Norman Plummer scored 19 points and Mark Jones finished with 17 to help Dayton win its fifth straight.
Warren Williams also had 10 points for the Flyers (6-3), who shot 53 percent from the field and outrebounded the Zips 36-30.
Darryl Peterson and Dru Joyce scored 11 points apiece for Akron (5-3), which shot 36 percent. Romeo Travis also had 10 points and nine rebounds.
Wisconsin 85, UNC Greensboro 53
MADISON, Wis. -- Wisconsin struggled from the floor (34 percent) and the free throw line (31 percent) before recovering to break the school record of 33 straight home wins set between 1911-15.
Alando Tucker had 21 points and 15 rebounds and Mike Wilkinson scored 20 points for the Badgers (7-2). Ricky Hickman led the Spartans (7-3) with 14 points, but UNC Greensboro was outrebounded 50-23.
Ill.-Chicago 79,Saginaw Valley St. 47
CHICAGO -- Jovan Stefanov scored 16 points, Cedrick Banks and Justin Bowen added 15 apiece and Bowen also had a game-high 11 rebounds for Illinois-Chicago (4-6). Kenneth Nether led the Cardinals (5-6) with 15 points and five rebounds.
