CAROLINA, Puerto Rico -- Marcus Morrison scored 15 points, including a free throw with 13 seconds remaining, to lead Middle Tennessee to a 70-65 win over Toledo in the San Juan Shootout tournament Monday.
The Blue Raiders (6-2) extended their winning streak to five games.
Toledo (1-5) led 64-63 with 3:54 to play after Keith Triplett hit a layup, but Middle Tennessee ended the game with a 7-1 run.
Morrison had six rebounds and three steals. Mike Dean also scored 15 points for the Blue Raiders, while Michael Cuffee had 13 points and seven rebounds.
Triplett led the Rockets with 19 points and six rebounds, and Florentino Valencia added 15 points.
Detroit 88, E. Michigan 83
DETROIT -- Brandon Cotton scored 27 points, making 12 of 17 field goal attempts, including three in the final five minutes.
Torvoris Baker had a career-high 19 points and eight rebounds for Detroit (3-6), which got 14 points and seven boards from Chuck Bailey.
Darryl Garrett finished with 28 points to lead the Eagles (6-2), who had won four straight. Marcus Austin added 24.
Vanderbilt 86, Cent. Michigan 54
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Dan Cage scored a career-high 18 points and Vanderbilt held Central Michigan to a season-low 32 percent shooting.
Mario Moore had 12 points and six assists while Corey Smith had 12 points and seven rebounds for Vanderbilt (6-4), which shot a season-high 60 percent from the field.
Freshman Alex Gordon tallied 13 points, including four 3-pointers. Vanderbilt hit a season-high 15 3-pointers.
Kevin Nelson scored 15 points for Central Michigan (4-4), which lost its 17th straight road game dating back to last season. The Chippewas entered the game averaging 73.1 points per game.
Vanderbilt led 44-15 at halftime, but Central Michigan hit nine of its first 10 shots in the second half en route to a 24-5 run that trimmed the Vanderbilt lead to 49-39 with 13:45 to play.
The Commodores responded with an 21-0 run, with 10 points coming from Cage, to take a 70-39 lead.
