DISTRICT Griffin, Jones lead Chaney; S. Range defeats Campbell



Columbiana knocked off Crestview in a battle of Tri-County League unbeatens.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Kayla Griffin and Tiera Jones led Chaney High to a 38-24 victory over Niles in a girls basketball game on Monday.
Griffin finished with eight points, six assists and six steals for the Cowgirls (4-3), while Jones also scored eight points. Quiana Faison finished with nine rebounds.
Stephanie Parish scored seven points to lead Niles (2-6).
South Range 71, Campbell 33
NORTH LIMA -- Cindy Schuler poured in 16 points to lead South Range.
Michelle Pingley added 13 points for the Raiders (3-6), who jumped out to a 20-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. Brittany Oliver and Heather Stacy added 10 points each.
Veronica Lewis led Campbell (2-5) with 11 points.
Columbiana 50, Crestview 35
NEW WATERFORD -- Stacie Cross and Cara Hardenbrook scored 12 points each for Columbiana, which won in a game between two teams unbeaten in the Tri-County League.
Lisa Simon added eight points, 13 rebounds and five blocked shots for the Clippers (8-1, 5-0), while Goist had five assists. Cross also had four steals and Krista Johnson five assists.
Columbiana bolted to an 18-4 lead in the first quarter.
Crestview (5-2, 4-1) was led by Brianne Phillis, with 20 points and four rebounds. Elyse Mongillo added 11 points, five assists and three steals.
Lisbon 67, Southern 20
LISBON -- Emily Smith scored 16 points for Lisbon, and Kim Davis had 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Smith also had eight steals, while Samantha Dailey finished with 10 points and seven rebounds for the Blue Devils (5-3, 3-2).
Erica Sims had eight points and eight rebounds, and Caitlin Glenn had five assists.
