NIGHTS AT THE RACES
XA night at the races will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 15 at Mary Mother of Hope Parish Center, corner of North and Beaver streets, New Castle, Pa. Cost of $5 includes food and beverages. Tickets are availabe at the parish office from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. For information call (724) 658-2564.
XOn Feb. 5 a night at the races will be held at St. Mary Social Hall, 120 Maple Drive, Newton Falls. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and post time will be 7. Cost is $10 for admission and $15 to sponsor a horse. A buffet dinner and beverages are included.
SPECIAL EVENTS
XA Christmas dinner and children's party complete with Santa riding on a fire truck will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the Washingtonville VFW Hall, 575 S. County Line Road.
