CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Dee Brown had 19 points to lead all five Illinois starters in double figures for the second straight game, and the top-ranked Illini beat Valparaiso 93-56 on Sunday.
Brown scored five points in a 20-5 run midway through the second half that gave the Illini (10-0) a 39-point lead over the Crusaders (2-6), who saw a two-game winning streak end.
The Illini were playing their first game in eight days but weren't fazed by the layoff. They shot 59 percent from the field in a game full of plays that seemed to draw as many "oohs" and "ahs" as cheers from the sellout crowd of 16,618.
Deron Williams scored 15 points, Roger Powell Jr. had 14, Luther Head had 11 points and nine assists and James Augustine had 10 points and nine rebounds for Illinois.
Valparaiso, playing its sixth straight game without injured senior point guard Ali Berdiel, got 16 points from Dan Oppland and 10 from Vincent Humphrey. The Crusaders shot 34 percent and committed 15 turnovers.
Missouri 56, Indiana 53
COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Linas Kleiza scored 15 of his 18 points in the second half and made four free throws in the final 55 seconds, helping Missouri overcome a 17-point deficit.
Marshall Brown added 11 points off the bench, including a spinning dunk off a turnover with one second remaining, as Missouri beat Indiana with a big comeback for the second straight season. Last season, the Tigers (6-4) finished with a 21-2 run and won by five on the road.
Bracey Wright had 12 points and three assists for Indiana despite breaking his nose in two places late in the first half on an intentional offensive foul by Spencer Laurie. Wearing a bandage over his nose, Wright hit two free throws with 1:12 to go for a 51-50 lead, but he lost control of the ball driving in the lane on Indiana's final possession with about four seconds to go.
D.J. White had 13 points for Indiana (2-5), which has lost five in a row.
