New Lisbon Lodge 65 seats slate of officers for 2005 term
A memorial service and reception followed the event.
LISBON -- The 145th annual installation of officers for New Lisbon Lodge 65, Free and Accepted Masons, 129 Lincoln Way, took place Dec. 7.
John P. Klein of Boardman was inducted as worshipful master for the 2005 year. His associate officers are Glenn Adams, senior warden; Steve Johnson, junior warden; William Stanley, treasurer; David Tolson, secretary; James Griffiths, chaplain; Dallas Rozeski, senior deacon; Randy Hart, junior deacon; David Crawford, senior steward; Braden Tucker, junior steward; William Rupp, tyler; and Don Butream, lodge education officer.
Special guests for the evening were Allen G. Bohr Sr., district deputy grand master, and Glenn R. Shafer, district deputy grand master of the 24th Masonic District.
Performing the duties of installing officer was Carl Deffenbaugh of Leetonia Lodge 401. Assisting him were William Robinette, installing marshal; James Forney, installing secretary; and Alonzo Potts, installing chaplain. Music was provided by Evelyn Phillips.
The installation was opened by the posting of colors by Salem Commandery 42. Afterward a memorial service was held, and a reception was held in the dining hall.
Klein has also served as worshipful master of Perry Lodge 185 in Salem. He is a past high priest of Salem Chapter Royal Arch Masons 94; past illustrious master of Omega Council 44 Royal and Select Masons; past commander of Salem Commandery 42 and a recipient of the Meritorious Service Award from the Grand Commandery of Knights Templar of Ohio.
He is a Knight of the York Cross of Honour of Ohio Priory 18 and a 32nd degree Mason of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Youngstown. He is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, past royal patron of Faith Court 43 Order of the Amaranth in Salem and past watchman of the shepherds of Ruth Shrine of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem in Poland.
He and his wife Brenda live in Boardman.
The lodge meets the first Tuesday of each month. The next meeting will be held Jan. 4, when 25-, 50- and 65-year pins will be presented and Awards Night will honor distinguished service to the lodge.
