Patrol captain is now a major
WARREN -- Capt. William Costas of the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Warren District Headquarters has been promoted to the rank of major by Col. Paul D. McClellan, patrol superintendent.
Maj. Costas will transfer to the Office of Field Operations at the patrol's general headquarters in Columbus to serve as commander.
Costas joined the patrol in October 1976. He was promoted to sergeant in June 1984 and was appointed assistant post commander at the Chardon post. He was promoted to lieutenant and Lancaster post commander in September 1987. He was promoted to the rank of staff lieutenant in July 1990 and transferred to the Warren District Headquarters, where he also served as captain and district commander.
Costas resides in Cortland with his wife, Rebecca. He has four children: David, Gregory, Suzanne and Jaqueline.
