The Mahoning County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities also handled these matters:
Approved a contract with Turning Point Residential Inc. for adult day-care service programs for 15 people for $262,725.
Approved a pact with its MASCO Inc. workshop for $289,944 to employ 38 program aides. The aides are MRDD program participants who help professional staff. They work 61/2 hours a day.
Approved a contract with Burdman Group Inc. for $61,808 for employing up to 16 MRDD participants.
Approved a contract with ArcRae Inc. for $162,500 for the local share of a board family resources program to cover respite-care expenses.
Approved a contract with Advance Rehab Inc. to provide occupational therapy ($144,625) and physical therapy ($118,325) for MRDD adult participants. The contracts cover the current program at the board's three adult workshops and the needs for elderly and medically fragile clients who will be served at the habilitation center to open on Javit Court in summer 2005.
Acknowledged the reappointment of board members Carole Weimer, Sandee Timmerman and Frank Santisi to another three-year term.
