Program seeks apprentices

NEW ALEXANDRIA, Pa. -- The Western Pennsylvania Operating Engineers Joint Apprenticeship and Training Program will accept applications for apprenticeships in their Heavy Equipment Operators Program and their Mechanic Technicians Program in 2005.
Applicants can apply for either or both programs but enroll in only one. Applications will be available for a two-week period beginning Jan. 17 and ending Jan. 28.
Final selection for both Programs will be made before June 1.
Counties covered by the training programs include: Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana in Ohio; and Lawrence and Mercer in Pennsylvania.
Applications and information packets should be picked up in person from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday at the Western Pennsylvania Operating Engineers Apprenticeship office on Route 22 in New Alexandria.
Applications also will be available Jan. 22, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the apprenticeship office.
