Butler man charged with killing wife
A Pennsylvania man is in jail after having been arrested in Smith Township on charges that he killed his wife at their home.
Jonathan R. Tusa, 24, of Winters Road, Butler, Pa., is in Butler County Jail on charges of criminal homicide and criminal homicide of unborn child, authorities said.
Pennsylvania State Police filed the charges and said Tusa shot his wife, Dawn E. Tusa, 21, in the head with a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol as she attempted to back her car out of the driveway of their home about 3 a.m. Sunday. The two had returned home shortly before and got into what police called a "domestic dispute." The body was discovered about 8:45 a.m. Sunday.
Tusa was located early Monday morning at his father's home in Smith Township, where township police arrested him and took him to the Mahoning County Jail, authorities said. Smith Township is in southwestern Mahoning County.
He was later turned over to Pennsylvania authorities. He was arraigned before District Justice Sue Haggerty in Saxonburg, Pa., according to officials at the Butler County Jail, who said there is no bond due to the seriousness of the charge.
