COLLECTIONS
XHoliday Inn Express & amp; Suites, Spangler Road, West Middlesex, Pa., in cooperation with Prince of Peace, is sponsoring a "Give the Gift of Warmth" collection. The hotel will be a collection site for donations of hats, mittens, gloves and blankets during the cold winter months for those in need. New or nearly new items can be taken there through Jan. 4. Those making donations will receive an entry form to enter a drawing for a night at one of the hotel's spa suites. The drawing will be held Jan. 5, and the winner need not be present. Prince of Peace also distributes food baskets during the holidays and serves meals to the needy.
FUND-RAISERS
XGoldsteins Furniture in Boardman is selling "Best Buddies" stuffed toys until Sunday with all proceeds to benefit Tod Children's Hospital in Youngstown. The stuffed toys may be purchased for $5 at Goldsteins locations in Boardman, Hermitage and Niles.
RAFFLES
XEast Liverpool High School marching band, in conjunction with Mountain Chevrolet Buick in East Liverpool, will hold a raffle for a 2003 Chevy SSR pickup truck valued at over $40,000. Tickets are $25 each and are available through the dealership or any band-booster member, or call the high school at (330) 386-8750 or the dealership, (330) 385-3535. The drawing will be held Jan. 15. Tickets are limited to 2500.
SHOPS
XA holiday shop benefiting Trumbull Mobile Meals is now open at 280 N. Park Ave., Suite 2801/2, Warren. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Items include poinsettias, crafts, wreaths, floral arrangements and tree decorating services. SPECIAL EVENTS
XHowland Community Church, 198 Niles-Cortland Road, will present its third annual Christmas Extravaganza from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday for all children ages 3 through third grade. A movie will be shown, and activities will include a Christmas spider and an edible manger. The event is free.
