ZAUCHENSEE, Austria (AP) -- Finland's Tanja Poutiainen captured her second straight slalom Sunday to regain the lead in the overall World Cup standings.
She completed the Kaelberloch course in a combined time of 1 minute, 39.88 seconds, edging Austria's Marlies Schild by 0.03 seconds. Croatia's Janica Kostelic was third in 1:40.53, followed by Sweden's Anja Paerson in 1:40.94.
Sarah Schleper of the United States finished seventh, making the top 10 for the first time this season. She trailed teammate Kristina Koznick after the opening run. Koznick finished 10th while another American, Resi Stiegler, was 12th.
Paerson briefly moved to the top of the overall standings Saturday after finishing better than Poutiainen in the super giant slalom. But Poutiainen's victory Sunday allowed her to reclaim the lead. The Finn has 441 points, with Paerson at 393 and Kostelic at 383.
Poutiainen was third and first in the pair of slaloms in Aspen, Colo., at the end of November. This was her fifth top-three finish of the season.
Schild, a slalom specialist, had the fastest time in the second run to record her first top-three finish this season. She said she slept for only a couple of hours the night before because of an upset stomach.
Kostelic, who trailed the winner by 0.65 seconds, prefers to ski in icy conditions and was upset about the condition of the slope.
