WESTERN PA. Group seeks donations

HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Hermitage Good Fellows are soliciting toys, food and monetary contributions for their annual Christmas project to make the holidays brighter for about 150 families.
Donations may be dropped off at the Hermitage City Garage on Virginia Road or the Hermitage Central Fire Station on Highland Road between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Donations may also be dropped off at the Ponderosa Restaurant on East State Street and at Rice Pool & amp; Spa on Easton Road during their normal business hours.
The Good Fellows ask that no clothing, bicycles or old stuffed animals be donated. Donations of new or dry cleanable plush toys and animals are acceptable.
All donated toys are cleaned and repaired as needed, and, along with a Christmas meal, are distributed to deserving people in Hermitage on Christmas Eve by Santa and his band of "elves."
Known in the past as the Hickory Good Fellows, the group has been around for 50 years. The group's purpose, according to a spokesman, "is to help Santa Claus bring the Christmas spirit to our elderly, shut-ins and children of families in need ... within the City of Hermitage during the holiday season."
Good Fellows describe themselves as a group of concerned and community-minded citizens from various walks of life and remain anonymous.
