New postal machines promote self-service

Customers visiting Austintown, Youngstown Main, Poland and Boardman Post Offices can now experience the Postal Service's version of the ATM.
"APCs -- Automated Postal Centers -- provide easy access to postal products and services just as ATMs provide easy access to banking services," said Postal Spokesman Dave Van Allen. "Unlike ATMs, APCs don't add transaction fees."
Van Allen said APCs expand customer access to postal services beyond traditional retail hours.
Using credit and debit cards, the APC enables customers to:
UBuy the same self-adhesive stamps are provided through ATMs.
UWeigh, calculate and purchase postage in any amount for items weighing up to 70 lbs.
USend items via Express Mail, Priority Mail, First-Class Mail and Parcel Post services.
ULook up Zip codes and obtain Postal Service mailing information
UObtain Express Mail, Certified Mail and Return Receipts.
UPurchase Delivery Confirmation Service.
UObtain a receipt.
