XYOUNGSTOWN -- Temple El Emeth was the setting at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 6 as Rabbi Joseph Schonberger officiated for the marriage of Jennifer Lauren Slate of Cleveland, daughter of Nancy and Dr. Richard Slate of Liberty Township, and Jonathan Marc Grischkan, also of Cleveland, son of Gloria and Michael Grischkan of Pepper Pike.
A reception followed at Leo's Ristorante in Howland.
The bride's strapless ball gown was designed with a dropped waist and accented with gold embroidery and pearl beading on the bodice.
Attending her as maid of honor was Marni Birnbaum of New York. Bridesmaid was Jennifer Grischkan of Columbus, sister of the groom. They wore chocolate-brown gowns.
Jeremy Grischkan of Columbus was best man for his brother. Groomsmen were Andy Slate of New York, the bride's brother, and Seth Willen of Cleveland Heights.
The couple are living in Cleveland.
The bride is a special sections editor with the Cleveland Jewish News in Beachwood. She earned a bachelor's degree in English at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and her master's in social work at the Ohio State University School of Social Work. The groom graduated from OSU with his bachelor's in biology and is pursuing a master's in applied anatomy and doctor of medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland.
