Mercer County commissioners dealt with these items at their Thursday meeting:
Approved issuing $2 million in tax-exempt bonds for an expansion of the Community Counseling Center, Hermitage, into the former County Market, 2201 E. State Street, Hermitage.
Accepted the resignation of Olive Brown from the Northwest Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission.
Also Thursday, commissioners:
Reappointed Donald Koontz, Fredonia, as a farmer director on the Mercer County Conservation District Board.
Hired Infocon Corporation, Ebensburg, to provide postcard printing and mailing services for notices to Homestead/Farmstead applicants at .327 cents per postcard plus $120 per trip to the post office. Tax Collector Michael DeForest said hiring the firm is cheaper than doing the job in-house.
Set mileage reimbursement for county workers at 32 cents per mile retroactive to Dec. 1.
Authorized applying for a grant for $16,800 for improvements including roof repairs on several buildings at Munnel Run Farm.
Signed an agreement with Cott Systems Inc., Worthington, Ohio, for a licensing and software upgrade to the indexing system for the Mercer County Recorder's Office. Costs will be paid from the Recorder's Records Improvements Fund, which comes from a fee collected on each land transaction recorded.
Agreed to forgive delinquent property taxes on 1018 Emerson Avenue, Farrell. The property has been acquired by Community Action Partnership of Mercer County as a re-development project.
Approved a proposal from Woodring Detective Bureau for continuing to provide security services at Mercer County Domestic Relations Department in 2005. The hourly rate will rise to $15.35 from $14.60 under the new contract.
