MERCER COUNTY Purse snatcher gets prison term
MERCER , Pa. -- A man received a prison term for a violent purse-snatching and a woman was given time for stealing from her employer in Mercer County Common Pleas Court on Thursday.
Judge Thomas Dobson sentenced Ljubomir Pantelic, 26, address given as the Mercer County Jail, to two to four years for felony robbery. The sentence will run concurrent to one he is already serving. He was also given 30 days credit for time already served.
In March, Pantelic pulled a woman from her vehicle and forcibly took her purse at the corner of Union and Fruit Streets in Farrell.
Patsy Burnside, 64, of Bartholomew Road, Mercer, was sentenced to 45 days to 18 months and ordered to make restitution to Ralph W. Kyle Inc., 791 Mercer-New Waterford Road, for felony theft by unlawful taking. She stole at least $25,241 from the company while employed as a bookkeeper.

Several others were also sentenced Thursday:
* Kevin Dixon, 19, of Scrubgrass Road, Grove City, was sentenced to six months on house arrest for unlawful acts, a misdemeanor, for trying to sell or distribute the drug Klonopin to a male at Grove City High School.
* Ricardo Gonzalez, 29, of Market Street, Mercer, was placed on 15 months' of probation for accidents involving death or personal injury, a misdemeanor, for a Sept. 7, 2003, accident on South Irving Avenue, Sharon. Court documents state he left the scene of the accident although several people were injured. He was also driving without a license.
* Alfred Hammons, 23, of North Third Street, Greenville, was sentenced to one to 23 months in jail for misdemeanor simple assault. On Nov. 2, 2003, he entered a 12th Street, Pymatuning Township, residence and punched and kicked a man there. The victim suffered a dislocated arm and several bruises.
* Chad Hanna, 33, of Broadway, Masury, Ohio, was sentenced to three to 12 months in jail followed by 12 months' probation and ordered to make restitution for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a felony. On Nov. 7, 2003, he sold cocaine to a confidential informant at a First Avenue, Sharon, address.
* Nicole Lapcevich, 25, of Ridge Avenue, Sharpsville, was placed on a year's probation for misdemeanor retail theft. On May 12, she stole $163 worth of DVDs and a purse from Wal-Mart, 3300 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage.
* Patricia Winston, 47, of Oakland Avenue, Sharon, was sentenced to nine to 18 months in prison followed by 12 months' probation and ordered to make restitution for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a felony. On Nov. 13, 2003, according to court documents, she sold cocaine to a confidential informant at a Spearman Avenue, Sharon, address.
