Family shelter seeking gifts for mothers

YOUNGSTOWN--The Beatitude House, which provides transitional housing to homeless women with children, is asking the public to donate new or nearly new items for its annual "Santa's Workshop" program.
The children of the women who are enrolled at Beatitude House will choose from the donated items to give their mothers on Christmas. Volunteers will help wrap the presents after the children make their selections.
Beatitude House officials suggest donation of gifts such as gloves, socks, bath sets or perfume. Candles cannot be accepted.
All donations, which should be unwrapped, can be dropped off to the administrative office of Beatitude House, 287 Lora Avenue, near Fifth Avenue from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. All gifts must be received by Dec. 17.
