XNEW MIDDLETOWN -- Married Dec. 4 at St. Paul the Apostle Church were Tamara Koren of Honolulu, daughter of William J. Sr. and Evlyn Koren of New Middletown, and Efren Unabia, also of Honolulu, son of Flora Unabia of Cebu, Philippines, and the late Gregorio Unabia.
The Rev. Nicholas Shori officiated for the 1 p.m. ceremony.
The couple were honored afterward at a reception at the Holiday Inn in Boardman, then they left on a cruise to the Mediterranean and Greek Isles. Upon their return, they will live in Honolulu.
The bride, a graduate of Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu with a bachelor's degree in nursing, is a charge nurse at Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu. The groom is employed in bar-restaurant management at Hale Koa Military Resort in Honolulu.
Sequins, pearls and lace embellished the bride's traditional white gown fashioned with a square neckline, long sleeves and a full tulle skirt extending to a cathedral train.
The bride's brother, William J. Koren Jr. of New Middletown, served as man of honor, and bridesmaids were Carolyn Alvarico of Boardman and Kimothy Kane of Struthers, her sisters; Amy Krcelic-Mostaka of Watervliet, Mich.; and Giovanna Aguilera of Honolulu. They wore red gowns. Caitlin Kane of Struthers and Isabella Alvarico of Boardman, goddaughters of the bride, were flower girls.
Luis Santos of Honolulu performed the duties as best man, and Emidio Santos, Honolulu, was groomsmen.
