Mass, dinner party fete the McClouds for anniversary

XYOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Donald McCloud, 6831 Lockwood Blvd., received a papal blessing during a Mass Nov. 27 at St. Dominic Church as they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The McClouds are active 40-year members of the church.
A dinner party followed at MVR Restaurant. Hosting the activities were the couple's children and their spouses, Jeanne and Dan McCloud, Denise and Tom McCloud, Patty and Bud Joyce, Megann Martin and Brendan McCloud, all of Boardman, and Devin and Marty McCloud of Pittsburgh. There are also eight grandchildren in their family.
The couple were also honored at a family dinner at Fonderlac Country Club in New Springfield on Nov. 25. Mr. McCloud and the former Claranne Lyden were married on that day in 1954 at St. Joseph Church.
Mrs. McCloud is a receptionist for AAA Ohio Motorists in Boardman. She retired in 2000 from Mahoning County Child Support Enforcement Agency, where she was a case manager. She is a member of Seton III and National Council of Catholic Women and a charter member of Catholic Women's Organization.
Mr. McCloud is retired after working many years in steel sales for Specialty Pipe and Tube Co. and Edna Tube Corp., both in Warren, and as a self-employed manufacturers' representative. He is a member of YSU Football Alumni and Mill Creek Golf Senior League and is a volunteer coach for the freshman football team at Cardinal Mooney High School.
Both are graduates of Youngstown State University.
