Murray leads Girard to a victory



The Indians rolled to 17-3 first-quarter lead.
GIRARD -- Cachet Murray scored 29 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead the Girard High School girls basketball team to a 57-36 victory over Warren John F. Kennedy on Thursday night.
The Indians, who led 17-3 after the first quarter and 22-8 at halftime, improved to 5-0 with the victory.
Kennedy (1-3) was led by Alyssa Chaves, who scored 15 points.
Lakeview 47,Ash. Edgewood 46, 2 OT
CORTLAND -- Jen Baker scored on a driving layup at the buzzer of the second overtime to give Lakeview its third victory in four games this season.
Lindsay Whetzel paced the Bulldogs with 11 points, while Chelsea Butler added 10 points and four assists.
Alynn Martin pulled down 11 rebounds to lead Lakeview.
Megan Higley scored 23 points for Ashtabula Edgewood (2-3).
Howland 57, Liberty 48
HOWLAND -- Carolyn Hanshaw scored 25 points for Howland, which led 15-8 after the first quarter and 31-24 at halftime.
Ana Cvengros had 13 rebounds for the Tigers, who improved to 2-1. Danielle Ryan had four assists.
Ashley White scored 22 points to lead Liberty (2-1), and Ellyna Williams had 13 rebounds.
