Thiel 87, Hiram 81
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Thiel College's Damien Williams finished with a team-high 20 points to lead the Tomcats past Hiram. Williams was 8-of-12 from the field, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range. Joe Herrmann finished with 16 points and a game-high eight rebounds for Thiel (2-3), while Percy Sweeting had 14 points and six rebounds. Daryl Moore added 13 points, five assists and four rebounds, and Henry Passerrello chipped in with 11 points. Carlton Dean led the Terriers (1-4) with 26 points. Brandon Pool finished with 14, while A.J. White and T.C. Spencer added 13 and 11 points, respectively.
Alfred 99, Allegheny 85
ALFRED, N.Y. -- For the second consecutive game, Allegheny's Casey McCloskey set a new career-high in scoring. but it wasn't enough to overcome 41 points from Alfred's Quentin Bryant. Matt Majzlik and Justin Schmitt each scored 12 for the Gators (2-3). Bryant also had 10 rebounds and eight assists for Alfred (3-1). Dillon Stein added 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Bethany 55, Muskingum 53
BETHANY, W. Va. -- Matt Drahos had team highs of 12 points and eight rebounds to lead Bethany in its home opener. Mike Drahos, Chris Stephens and Brandon Duncan all added 10 points for the Bison (4-2). Zach Ross scored 18 points and Cole Pittis added 12 for Muskingum (4-1), which shot 51 percent from the field for the game.
Shawnee State 93, Malone 85
PORTSMOUTH -- Terrence Davison led all scorers with a career-high 27 points for Shawnee State (3-5, 1-0 American Mideast Conference South), while Billy Younger added 16 points off the bench. Adam Davenport had 15 points and 12 rebounds. Aaron Davis, Nick Donley, and Rich Montague scored 10 points apiece. Shane Conwell led Malone (2-4, 0-1) with 25 points.
WOMEN
Geneva 79, Mount Union 61
BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- Jen Rawding scored 18 points, making 5-of-9 on 3-pointers, to lead Geneva over Mount Union. Ali Cananzi added 17 points for the Golden Tornadoes (4-1), while Kylee Kittner scored 10. Ruth Dobos had 11 rebounds for Geneva. Mount Union (2-2) was led by Lauren Friedrich with 16 points, and Ashley Ross with 11 points, six rebounds and four assists.
Bluffton 80, Lake Erie 40
PAINESVILLE -- Loni Sargent (Hubbard) scored 18 points and had 11 rebounds in her first college game for Lake Erie (0-1). Sargent also had eight steals and six assists.
Baldwin-Wallace 84, Grove City 60
BEREA -- Steffani Jaworski scored 14 points to lead Baldwin-Wallace, while Nikki Altenwag added 11 points and Cara Shiplett had 10 rebounds. Alyson Cotter (Salem) scored 3 points and had five rebounds off the bench for the Yellow Jackets. Grove City was led by Abby Moose, with 19 points and three assists, and Rachel McCoy, with 11 points and eight rebounds.
