Warren kidnapping case goes to grand jury
WARREN -- A Trumbull County grand jury will hear aggravated robbery and kidnapping charges against a city man.
Stacey Sellers, 43, of Maple Street, appeared in municipal court Tuesday with public defender James Lewis but waived a preliminary hearing.
Judge Terry Ivanchak sent the case to the grand jury. Earlier, the judge had set Seller's bond at $300,000.
Warren police and other agencies say they suspect Sellers in a series of crimes that began Nov. 18, when an employee of Zamarelli Real Estate on East Market Street was beaten by a man.
Afterward, an elderly driver on Elm Road Northeast was thrown to the ground as a man took off in her car.
Later, a Southington woman was forced by a man to drive away from the parking lot of AVI Foodsystems on Elm Road.
Detective Jeff Hoolihan said Sharon police have put a hold on Sellers with Warren police to extradite him on similar charges.
Also, Youngstown State University police and Youngstown police might have additional charges, Hoolihan said. Sellers is a suspect in the abduction of a Sharon woman near YSU.
