STORRS, Conn. -- Rashad Anderson scored 17 points and Hilton Armstrong had a career-high five blocked shots as No. 7 Connecticut cruised to a 99-48 victory over Florida International on Tuesday night.
Armstrong and Josh Boone, who had four blocked shots and 11 rebounds, were part of UConn's dominating frontcourt that recorded a school-record 19 blocks. The Huskies (2-0) outrebounded FIU 57-36.
Ivan Almonte and Ishmael N'Diaye led the Golden Panthers (3-2) with 12 points each. FIU was no match for the defending NCAA champs. The bigger, faster Huskies got to the foul line 30 times, making 20.
No. 8 Kentucky 92,Tennessee Tech 63
LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Kelenna Azubuike emerged from a season-long shooting slump, scoring 21 points and No. 8 Kentucky beat Tennessee Tech 92-63 on Tuesday night.
Chuck Hayes overcame foul trouble to add 17 points and 11 rebounds for Kentucky (4-0) in its last game before playing at No. 9 North Carolina on Saturday.
No. 19 Florida 88, Florida A & amp;M 51
GAINESVILLE, Fla.-- Mohamed Abukar scored a career-high 22 points, and No. 19 Florida routed Florida A & amp;M 88-51 on Tuesday night.
The sophomore was 8-of-10 from the field, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range, and showed signs of being ready to give the Gators (4-0) some much-needed depth this season.
Abukar had 16 points at halftime, and the Gators led 47-28. They opened the second half with a 15-0 run, and Abukar later added three baskets to give Florida its biggest lead of the night.
Anthony Roberson finished with 13 points, and Corey Brewer added 11.
No. 21 Arizona 98, Wyoming 70
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Salim Stoudamire and freshman Jawaan McClellan each scored 19 points and No. 21 Arizona pulled away in the second half to rout Wyoming 98-70 on Tuesday night.
Hassan Adams snapped out of his early season slump with 16 points for the Wildcats (4-2).
McClellan, a highly regarded recruit from Houston who committed to Arizona before his junior season in high school, was 5-for-10 from the field, including 2-of-4 on 3-pointers, and was 7-for-8 from the foul line. Stoudamire was 3-of-4 on 3s. Channing Frye added 12 points, 10 in the second half.
