GIRLS BASKETBALL S. Range defeats Crestview for 1st win



Youngstown Christian took a halftime lead on the road, but couldn't hold it.
NEW WATERFORD -- Michelle Pingley scored 14 points, leading three South Range High players in double figures, as the Raiders won their first game of the season, 52-41, over Crestview, Tuesday night in girls basketball.
Cindy Schuler added 13 points, 11 rebounds and five steals for South Range (1-2), while Heather Stacey added 10 points and eight assists. Pingley finished with nine rebounds and five assists, while Brittany Oliver had five assists and three steals.
Crestview (1-1) was led by Elyse Mongillo, who had 14 points, three rebounds and five assists. Chelsea Crowell added three steals and Brianne Phillis scored eight points.

ASHTABULA -- Rachel Coristin scored 17 points for Youngstown Christian, which led 24-21 at halftime but was outscored 21-11 in the third quarter.
Beverly Young added 12 points for Youngstown Christian (1-2).
Ashtabula Sts. John & amp; Paul (2-1) got 29 points from Jessie Looman. Angela Notte added 15 points and Cathy Tinney scored 14.
