A retail shopping plaza is the latest plan to surface for that area.
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Pa. Route 208 near Prime Outlets at Grove City continues to attract new commercial projects.
The latest conceptual plan presented to Springfield Township supervisors is a retail project of about 200,000 square feet that would include a 150,000 square-foot retail store, two restaurants and perhaps a bank office, gas station/convenience store, an ice cream shop and a drugstore.
William Heinl, associate project manager for Gray-Warnick Engineering of Butler, the company doing the engineering on the 52-acre site, outlined the plans for supervisors a week ago.
The project developer is Tango Investments of Forestville, Pa., he said.
Issues to discuss
There are no cost estimates or timetable established yet, Heinl said, adding that a few issues must be worked out. In particular, sanitary sewer service is a concern, he said, noting that there are sewers in that area but that there is a concern whether the capacity can handle the development, he said.
That question must be resolved before the project can proceed, he said, suggesting that Tango might be willing to provide assistance in improving the system.
The project must also study traffic flows before it can seek Pennsylvania Department of Transportation approval for access off Route 208, Heinl said.
The site is directly across Route 208 from the Born2Run sports complex, one of the latest commercial enterprises to spring up near the outlet shops.
