Sharon man receives prison sentence for stabbing teen



MERCER, Pa. -- A Sharon man will serve 18 to 36 months in prison for stabbing a teenager last fall.
David Matlock, 19, of Quinby Street, Sharon, was given the term Friday by Judge Thomas Dobson of Mercer County Commong Pleas Court for aggravated assault, a felony.
Court documents show that after an argument Oct. 24, 2003, Matlock stabbed a 16-year-old boy in the stomach with a knife. The stabbing took place at East Budd Street and New Castle Avenue in Sharon.
In another case, Dwight Campbell, 27, was sentenced to three to 18 months in jail for escape, a misdemeanor. According to court records, on Nov. 1, 2001, Campbell ran away from police after being arrested on a warrant. He was apprehended after a foot chase along the 700 block of Lee Avenue in Farrell.
Robert Martin, 32, of Florence Street, Sharon, was sentenced to three to 15 months in jail followed by six months' probation for each of two felony counts of possession of cocaine with intent to deliver. Martin possessed cocaine Oct. 15 and 24, 2003, on Idaho Street, Farrell, records show.
