Eagle Scout award
James Wilkerson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Wilkerson of Warren, received his Eagle Scout award at a court of honor ceremony earlier this month at the Warren Elks Lodge 295.
Wilkerson is a member of Greater Western Reserve Council Boy Scouts Troop 101. His scoutmaster is Jim Potjunas. He joined Troop 101 in 1997 after earning his Arrow of Light award with Cub Pack 122.
With Troop 101, Wilkerson has had leadership positions of patrol leader, guide and senior patrol leader. He earned a total of 22 merit badges.
For his Eagle service project, he installed a flag pole for the Howland Fire Department.
Wilkerson is a student at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Terre Haute, Ind., where he is pursuing studies in engineering and applied physics.
LAWYERS
Juris doctorate degree
Karen Lake of Youngstown has received her juris doctorate degree from David A. Clark School of Law at The University of District of Columbia, Washington D.C.
Lake is a 1981 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herb Lake Sr. of Youngstown. She will begin her law practice in Maryland.
