CANFIELD -- The Canfield High volleyball team rallied to beat Girard 10-25, 25-21, 25-12 in the deciding match of an opening-day triangular at Canfield High School.
For Canfield, Kelly Reese had 21 assists, 10 points and four aces, while Stephanie Jarvis had nine kills, Natasha Kassim had eight kills and three blocks, Jackie Nentwick had seven kills and Kerrie Haurin had eight digs and three blocks.
For Girard, Elise Roscoe had 11 points, Erin Stevens had 23 assists, Brittany Kay had eight digs and Courtney Maddes added 15 kills.
Canfield 25-25, Boardman 20-21
For Canfield, Jarvis had eight kills and seven digs while Reese had seven points and Kelsey Owen had eight digs, nine assists and two aces.
For Boardman, Amy Pawlosky had seven points and three kills and Ali Sfara added three kills and five digs.
Girard 25-25, Boardman 23-20
For Girard, Maddes had 13 points, four aces and two blocks and Chelsea Morrison had eight kills.
For Boardman, Katie Spatara had 11 points and 12 assists and April Melquist had six kills and three blocks.
W. Reserve 13-25-25-26, Columbiana 25-13-18-24
BERLIN CENTER -- For Western Reserve (1-0), Sara Kucsko had 14 kills and eight blocks, Andrea Martin 18 points, three aces and 10 digs and Tekla Toman eight kills and five points.
For Columbiana (0-1), Cara Hardenbrook had 20 kills and 18 digs, Kylee Crittenden three aces three blocks and 15 digs and Brandi Snavely 37 assists.
