XBOARDMAN -- C. Jason Congo and his bride, the former Lisa Ann Cookson, spent their honeymoon in Aruba following their July 30 wedding at Boardman United Methodist Church and their reception afterward at the Holiday Inn.
The daughter of Michael and Stephanie Cookson, 162 Shorehaven Drive, and the son of Carl and Susan Congo of East Liverpool were united in marriage during a 3 p.m. ceremony solemnized by the Rev. Ash Welch.
The bride wore a strapless A-line satin gown that featured flowers at the waistline and a sweep train.
Wearing black gowns were Kristen Baldwin, the honor attendant, and the bridesmaids, Jill Harvey; Shelby Monit; Danielle Congo, the groom's sister; and Melissa and Michelle Stamolis, cousins of the bride. The groom's niece, Kaylee Freeman, was flower girl.
The duties of best man were performed by William Lyle, and groomsmen were Matthew Cunningham, Jeremy Corbisello, Matthew Freeman, Eric Lowe and the bride's brother, Christopher Cookson.
Mrs. Congo, an art teacher at Beaver Local Middle school in Lisbon, graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor's degree in fine arts.
Mr. Congo earned a bachelor's degree in education at KSU and is a mathematics teacher with Beaver Local Middle School.
The couple live in Canfield.
