LIBERTY
Aug. 22
Vehicle theft: A woman left her residence in the 100 block of Warner Road and discovered her 1993 Ford Explorer missing.
Aug. 23
Breaking and entering: An employee at a doctor's office in the 3200 block of Belmont Avenue reported someone broke in with a key or possibly by altering a door lock. Various items and furniture were missing.
Theft: An employee at ABC Lawn Service, 1755 1/2 Harding Ave., reported someone took a $100 trailer hitch from a company-owned truck.
Theft/misuse of a credit card: A man in the 6500 block of Sodom-Hutchings Road discovered two suspicious charges totaling $5,100 had been placed on his credit card before he used it at a Youngstown business to buy a backhoe.
Breaking and entering: A man called police after someone broke several doors and entered Liberty Land Management and Thane Sign Co., both at 1600 E. Liberty St. It was undetermined if anything had been stolen.
Arrest: After conducting a vehicle registration check, police arrested a 28-year-old Youngstown man near Gypsy Lane and Belmont Avenue. He was wanted on a felony warrant from Tammany Parish, La., charging him with distribution of cocaine.

Burglary: Nothing appeared to be missing or disturbed after a woman returned to her residence in the 300 block of South Main Street and found a door open and another door damaged.
Aug. 19
Theft: A man noticed several items had been taken from his car parked near his home in the 500 block of Rebecca Avenue.
Criminal damage: A woman in the 800 block of West Park Avenue reported damage to her husband's vehicle.
Aug. 20
Burglary: A Youngstown woman called police after discovering a friend's apartment in the 100 block of West Liberty Street had been broken into.
Aug. 22
Criminal mischief: A woman in the 100 block of Church Street reported someone struck a friend's truck with paintballs and eggs while the vehicle was in front of the woman's home.
Theft: A woman in the 600 block of Moore Street reported a man took her purse while she shopped at Patton's IGA Super Center, 880 W. Liberty St.
Aug. 23
Theft: An employee at Dollar General, 884 W. Liberty St., called police after a shoplifter stole various items and fled.
Theft: A woman in the 6800 block of Franklin Street reported several articles of clothing had been taken from her while she was at the Hubbard Laundromat.
Aug. 24
Theft: A man in the 900 block of West Liberty Street reported some landscaping material had been stolen.
